Business experience needed to run country
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Jul. 9, 2011 12:40 am
Hope and change only turned out to be vacuous rhetoric to move a monetarily bereft nation into a deeper hold with no business guidance from a president, his staff and Congress. The president is the CEO of USA's largest business, or is he?
Government's money comes from us, not from endlessly deep money wells or money trees. We are fast becoming a Third World nation, living well beyond our means. Lean on China for money? They look to countries who can financially benefit them, but what about the human element? That aspect has not proved to be part of their overall view point or agenda.
Linn and Johnson counties have spent FEMA (expected funds) without considering other parts of the country that have and are experiencing disasters much like our own.
Government, with its multitudinous agencies and wastefulness, will never dig us out of our abyss. Let's find a businessman presidential candidate to effectively run government.
