Change school process for non-college bound

Our tax-funded educational system is obsolete. For students who can't or don't want to go on to college, four years of high school is a waste of time, facilities and taxpayers' money. There is a way to correct this inefficiency.
What is needed is a fast-track curriculum that allows these students to pass a GED test at the end of their sophomore year. This would enable them to enter any part- or full-time work force that requires a high school diploma or an equivalent. Later if they want a higher education, they can still enroll in any college that accepts a GED and their application.
Hopefully educators, parents, and the state Department of Education will lobby state legislators to pass a law to make a fast-track curriculum possible.
