On July 20, 1995, Butch Henry (Cedar Rapids Reds – 1988) pitched a complete game shutout to lead the Montreal Expos to a 4-0 victory over the Chicago Cubs. Henry struck out four while allowing seven hits and one walk in the win.
Butch Henry compiled a 33-33 record with a 3.83 ERA during his seven year MLB career playing for the Houston Astros, Colorado Rockies, Montreal Expos, Boston Red Sox and the Seattle Mariners. Henry was forced to retire early due to arm injuries. He served as a minor league coach in the Reds organization in 2004-05 before serving as the El Paso Diablos manager 2007-10.
Butch Henry was a member of the 1988 Cedar Rapids Reds squad that finished the regular season with a 87-53 mark before going on to defeat Springfield and Kenosha on the way to the Midwest League Championship. Henry posted a 16-2 record with a 2.26 ERA in 27 starts for Cedar Rapids.
