Obama’s compromise is bad for the country
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Aug. 7, 2011 11:50 am
To President Barack Obama: Change? Is this the change the American people supported in the election of 2008? Mr. President, you are no longer playing politics in college as when you became editor of the Harvard Law Review. However, you have been schooled time and again by the Republicans as if you are a first-grader unwilling to learn his lessons.
If I had wanted a Republican president, I would have voted Republican. Your hellbent attitude of “compromise” is as bad for the country as the Republicans' “scorched earth” approach. Unfortunately, you have compromised yourself and the country out of compromise. And in doing so, you have become the Republicans' most important tool.
As a result of your inability to lead, I can no longer support your presidency.
