CEDAR RAPIDS - Police cars swarmed a residential neighborhood in northwest Cedar Rapids after a man took off from a traffic stop Tuesday afternoon.
Several police cars responded to a foot chase around 1 p.m. after an officer stopped a car in the 200 block of 15th St. NW. Police set up a perimeter and were searching back yards, but did not immediately find the person.
Capt. Tom Jonker said it is believed the person who fled had a felony warrant out for his arrest. Police said the arrest warrant included charges for escape from placement and burglary. A description of the suspect was not immediately available.
Investigators searched the car, and a towing company arrived to impound it.
