Man reports early-morning assault in Iowa City

Police say an Iowa City man was assaulted at the intersection of Dodge and Bowery streets early Sunday by three college-aged men.
Now, Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is seeking the community's help to provide information about the incident.
According to the release, the 31-year-old man was walking home around 2:15 a.m. Sunday when he was "blindsided" by the three men, who struck him repeatedly with closed fists before they ran away. The man suffered bruises to his face, shoulders and knee, but chose not to be transported for further evaluation.
No items were were taken from the man, and he told police he had done nothing to provoke the attack. Officers checked the area but were unable to locate the the three individuals.
The three suspects are described as white males, each around age 20. The described "ring leader" was approximately5 feet 10 inches tall, weighed 150 to 180 pounds, had short-cut hair, and was wearing a white t-shirt. The two other men were described as "tall and thin."
Iowa City Area CrimeStoppers is offering a reward of up to $1,000 for information leading to the arrest of these suspects. Individuals providing information do not have to reveal their identity to collect a reward.
