Political campaigns spew hate, animosity

I am upset about the blaming and finger pointing by opposing parties. Both parties vote along party lines, not considering the good of our citizens. At election time, campaigns consist of rhetoric about how bad the other guy is. No one tells us how they are going to help us.
Please tell us what you, as a candidate, will do to solve our problems. We will evaluate your programs.
Democrats have some good ideas, as do Republicans, but the majority will never vary from party lines. The hate and animosity spewed forth in political campaigns has detrimental effects on our citizens. It pits citizens against each other and divides our country. This needs to stop.
Remember Roman politics? The richest politicians bought votes because they had the most money. What is different today? The Roman empire lasted about 200 years. Are we there yet?
Standard & Poor's lowering our credit rating to AA+: Someone had the courage to call it correctly. China, a major investor in U.S. economy, warned us to stop spending. If our officials do not listen to us, will they listen to China?
