Volleyball 2011: Area players to watch

Area players to watch for the 2011 high school volleyball season:

CASEY BARNEY, sr., OH, Union -- Averaged 3.0 kills and 1.7 digs per game with a .281 kill efficiency. Collected 77 ace serves. Class 3A honorable-mention all-state.

MACKENZIE BIGBEE, sr., OH, Williamsburg -- Averaged 4.2 kills per game with a .353 kill efficiency. Collected 74 blocks and 68 aces. Class 3A second-team all-state.

PAIGE DONOHOE, jr., DS, West Branch -- Averaged 6.2 digs per game with 46 aces. Class 2A honorable-mention all-state.

OLIVIA FAIRFIELD, sr., MB, Iowa City West -- Averaged 2.3 kills per game with a .347 kill efficiency. Collected 45 blocks. Class 4A second-team all-state.

MACKENZIE HARBAUGH, sr., OH, West Delaware -- Averaged 2.0 kills and 2.4 digs per game with a .307 kill efficiency. Served 96 percent. Class 3A third-team all-state.

ALLIE HUTCHESON, sr., S/OH, Cedar Rapids Kennedy -- Averaged 2.4 kills, 4.5 assists and 2.0 digs per game with a .403 kill efficiency. Collected 70 blocks and 80 aces. Class 4A third-team all-state.

MICHELLE LUTZ, jr., DS, Clear Creek Amana -- Averaged 6.0 digs per game with 46 aces. Class 3A honorable-mention all-state.

HANNAH MILLER, sr., MB, Marion -- Averaged 3.2 kills and 1.8 digs per game with a .275 kill efficiency. Collected 98 blocks and 66 aces. Class 3A honorable-mention all-state.

ERIN MUIR, sr., S, Iowa City High -- Averaged 9.9 assists and 3.4 digs per game. Class 4A special-mention all-state.
