Obama’s bus tour, Straw Poll irritating

Two recent events have truly irritated me.
First: How can our president, with a straight face, declare that his bus tour was informational and not political? Oh yes, so he can write it off at taxpayers' (that's us) expense. This should come out of the $750 million he has already collected for his re-election.
Second: How can the Iowa Straw Poll carry any weight when each vote cost the voter (or the organization backing the candidate) $30? And where does this money go? Kudos to those who skipped the Straw Poll.
