By Judy Borger: I was in Dollar General in Mason City, Iowa, when they came across on the news and said the first tower had been hit.
I stood in shock as I watched the second tower go.
I thought of all those lives that were senselessly lost and how I felt for those firefighters' wives with their husbands being killed. You don't realize how much life means until it's gone. My heart and prayers went out to all of those who lost love ones in 9/11.
My husband was a retired firefighter at that time, and I know what it is like to wonder if they are coming home or not.
Everyone in the store that day just stopped, and it was dead silence and alot of tears.
