A day to honor, support country’s labor unions

Labor Day is a creation of the labor movement. It is dedicated to the social and economic achievements of American workers. The vital force of labor added to the highest standard of living and the greatest production the world has ever known and has brought us closer to the realization of our traditional ideals of economic and political democracy.
Workers' rights are under attack. If you have a 40-hour workweek, safe work environment and guarantee of a minimum wage, thank a union. The unions have brought fairness to all workers, not just those who belong to the unions.
Did you know that Martin Luther King Jr, was in Memphis supporting striking sanitary workers the day he was assassinated?
Before unions, employers had no safety requirements, no law against child labor, no weekends, no law against discrimination. People died for the workers' rights we take for granted. Don't let them destroy the unions!
By coming together as a union, workers can negotiate for fair pay and family-supporting benefits. And that's exactly what we need to get the middle class and our economy back on track.
