Remember Obama's accomplishments

For columnists who cannot think of one good thing President Obama has done, let's start with The Recovery Act, the largest infrastructure investment since President Eisenhower, the largest education investment since President Johnson and the largest clean-energy bill. It created or saved almost 4 million jobs. Wall Street reform empowered consumers and investors. The Recovery Act reduced taxes for 95 percent of middle class families and extended unemployment benefits.
Credit card reform stopped unfair credit card practices. New emissions and fuel efficiency standards for American cars and clean-energy technologies help create a more sustainable future, creating new jobs and industries. This administration prevented hundreds of thousands of job losses in the auto industry.
The Affordable Care Act provides affordable options for those who don't have health insurance and ends insurance abuses, among other things. Expansion of the State Children's Health Insurance Program covers 4 million more children.
Osama bin Laden is dead and we're ending combat operations in Iraq. We have an arms control agreement with Russia that reduces our nuclear arsenals. He's repealed “don't ask, don't tell,” and given law enforcement new tools to prosecute those who commit hate crimes.
The president has made college more affordable, instigated Race to the Top and Educate to Innovate, helping states with educational resources. We have a new GI Bill for veterans. The Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act helps women earn a fare wage.
When you start to criticize President Obama for what he hasn't done, please remember what he has accomplished.
