Mount Vernon's Skotowski verbals to Western Illinois

Liz Skotowski, a senior from Mount Vernon, has given a verbal commitment to play women's basketball at Western Illinois University.
A 5-foot-9 guard, Skotowski averaged 9.2 points per game last season as Mount Vernon went 24-3 and earned a runner-up finish in Class 3A at the state tournament.
Skotowski led her team to a Class 2A state championship title in 2010.
She owns a 3.94 grade point average and is considering studying exercise science at WIU to pursue a career in physical therapy or dentistry. She will be eligible to sign a letter of intent in November.
Located in Macomb, Ill., WIU was 8-21 last season.
