Family seeks return of pit bull lost in Coralville

Last year a small pit bull came into my life. She was an unusual dark red and looked like she had a wicked grin on her face. She belonged to my son but I took care of her when he was working. Her energy was overwhelming at times. I never worried. A few times she escaped for adventure but because she was microchipped and always wore her vaccine tags, she was returned to us.
But on Sept. 6 while at Stuff Etc. in Coralville, the worst scenario happened. She jumped out of the sun roof of our car after my older son decided to find me in the store. We frantically looked for her. We contacted the local animal control, police department and shelters in that area.
I have learned if someone found her and wants to keep her, we may never get her back even though she is chipped. She is loved and very much missed. Please return her to her owner.
If you find an animal in your community that has a collar and vaccine tags, please take it to a local animal control provider. A family could be desperately looking for its family companion. We miss her wicked grin and affectionate kisses. We need to know if she is safe.
