Hiking taxes puts hardship on taxpayers

Kudos to the writer for telling it like it is regarding property taxes (“When voters say no, that should be final,” Sept. 12). How can they justify raising the levy faster than wages go up? They have a million and one reasons for hiking taxes but they refuse to acknowledge the hardship it puts on taxpayers.
More and more, the question is not can I afford the house but can I afford the property taxes?
