Child Safety Seat Checkup Event – October 1st

The Linn County Safe Kids Coalition, which is co-sponsored by the Cedar Rapids Fire Department and Cedar Rapids Police Department, will be helping parents or guardians with child passenger safety seat installations as part of “Car Seat Saturday” on Saturday, October 1st from 9:00 a.m. to Noon at Bob Mickey Collision Center, 4813 Center Point Road NE.

 Approximately 90 percent of all child safety seats are installed incorrectly. Certified technicians will help parents and guardians to make sure that the child safety seat fits the child and the vehicle appropriately. Participants need to bring their vehicle, child safety seat and the child to ensure a proper and safe fitting.  No appointment is necessary.

Educational materials will be available for parents and guardians. There is no cost for the safety inspection.
