TEDxIowaCity, coming to the Hotel Vetro on Nov. 11, will provide a forum for fresh global and local ideas and talent.
The event at the HOtel Vetro will offer a full day of 11 speakers, three performers and four TEDTalk videos. The theme for the program is Redefining Expectations.
The independently organized event is licensed from the nonprofit TED, which started in 1984 as a conference bringing together people from the worlds of technology, entertainment and design.
"This is going to be an amazing experience, truly a day to celebrate and engage in new ideas" said Mark Nolte of the Iowa City Area Development Group, one of the co-licensees of TEDxIowaCity.
Co-licensee, Cliff Missen of the WiderNet Project added that “We've sought out speakers who can make global issues local and local issues global. We've asked them to present ideas that inspire and inform Iowa's future.”
A full list of the speakers will be announced in the coming weeks. For more information about TEDxIowaCity, please visit www.tedxiowacity.org or www.facebook.com/tedxiowacity. For regular event updates, follow @tedxiowacity on Twitter.
