IHSAA releases 2011-12 postseason assignments in wrestling

The Iowa High School Athletic Association has released the 2012 sectional, district and regional duals sites.

Eastern Iowa has three main Class 3A district tournaments. Cedar Rapids Kennedy, Iowa City West and Waverly-Shell Rock will each host a meet.

Kennedy's field includes Cedar Rapids Jefferson, Cedar Rapids Prairie, Cedar Rapids Washington, Dubuque Hempstead, Dubuque Senior, Marshalltown and Western Dubuque.

The Trojans will host Burlington, Fort Madison, Iowa City High, Keokuk, Mount Pleasant, Oskaloosa and Ottumwa.

The defending state champion Go-Hawks will welcome Cedar Falls, Cedar Rapids Xavier, Decorah, Linn-Mar, Marion, Waterloo East and Waterloo West.

In 2A, Clear Creek Amana, DeWitt Central, Monticello, South Tama, Union and Waukon host sectional tournaments with Fairfield, Mount Vernon and Oelwein hosting districts.

Belle Plaine, East Buchanan, Hudson, Lisbon, Nashua-Plainfield, Pleasantville, Postville and Van Buren will host 1A sectional tournaments. Aplington-Parkersburg, Eddyville-Blakesburg, Iowa City Regina and Sumner-Fredericksburg host district meets.

For regional duals, although teams and pairings won't be determined until the release of Iowa Wrestling Coaches and Officials Association's team rankings in mid-January, sites were announced.

Carroll Kuemper, Central Decatur, Iowa Falls-Alden, Louisa-Muscatine, Sheldon, Webster City, West Delaware and Wlliamsburg host 2A regional dual sites.

Alburnett, Griswold, Logan-Magnolia, Manson NW Webster, Pekin, Truro I-35, Wapsie Valley and West Hancock host 1A regional duals.
