Cedar Falls author Scott Cawelti discusses his new book, “A Brother's Blood: A Heartland Cain and Abel” on Friday, November 4, at 7:00 pm, at the Cedar Rapids Public Library.
“A Brother's Blood” examines the gruesome Mark family murders. Jerry Mark of Cedar Falls was convicted of killing his brother, brother's wife, and their two children. Mark, however, always maintained his innocence.
Cawelti will share from his book and take questions from the audience. A member of the audience will receive a painting by local artist Joe Meisner.
Prior to the reading, the author will present a Humanities Iowa music program, “Landscape: Iowa,” the poems of James Hearst, sung, beginning at 5:30 pm and in conjunction with the opening of the next Red Wall Gallery Exhibit. Refreshments will be served.
