News pages of the past: Iowa vs. Minnesota

A few showcase Minnesota's rivalry with Iowa. Here are a few images of Minnesota-Iowa past:

This newspaper page was published after the rivalry's ultimate clash of unbeatens. On. Nov. 5, 1960, No. 3 Minnesota beat No. 1 Iowa 27-10. The teams ultimately tied for the Big Ten title, but Minnesota earned the Rose Bowl bid and claimed the national title. (The Gophers lost in the Rose Bowl but the title was awarded before bowl games.)  It was Forest Evashevski's last Big Ten title as Iowa's coach.

Minnesota beat Iowa 28-21 in this Nov. 13, 1948 game. Minnesota finished 5-2 in the Big Ten and 7-2 that season. Iowa ended the season 4-5 and 2-4 in Big Ten play.
