Mathis for a dedicated, hardworking legislator

I have no doubt that Liz Mathis has the ability to be a good state senator to represent District 18 in Linn County. She relates well to people and will present well during senate debates. When issues are under consideration, she will investigate related facts as well as listen to residents' opinions.
Being a farmer in District 18, I am especially impressed that Liz's background prepared her to represent us well. As a youngster growing up on a farm, Liz not only observed farm families' struggles, she participated in hard work necessary for survival. Liz learned the responsibility of completing regular chores and driving grain trucks. She developed a big dose of common sense necessary to solving problems of farm life. Liz also has shown the resiliency to keep working when factors beyond her control make life hard.
I know when I go to Liz with farm issues the Legislature could help solve, she will listen, understand, and make decisions that are reasonable.
I also sense that Liz believes government is necessary for a stable, just society, and that it can be continually improved by the election of hardworking, intelligent, dedicated, open-minded legislators. That's exactly what Liz is.
