Mathis is role model for students, leaders

While academic achievement is our foremost goal as educators, we spend much of our day in the classroom helping children learn how to get along, understand each other's feelings and take care of one another in order to become responsible citizens and respectful community members.
I am thrilled we have a person running for Senate District 18 who emulates each of these characteristics. We must elect officials who are willing to work together and think through difficult decisions with clarity and vision - just like we want our students to do.
Liz Mathis is that person - a role model for our students and a leader for Iowa.
