Elect leaders who look out for all of C.R.

Are Ann Poe supporters suffering from selective amnesia, or do they not know the truth? Poe's liaison position required her to tell the state how our disaster funds should be spent. Here's a snapshot of the truth.
The Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) allocated to Iowa $85 million of Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) disaster funds in September 2008 and $125 million in February 2009.
Flood victims were crying to be “bought out,” small businesses were fighting to stay afloat and landlords were struggling with no assistance. However, at that time, developers were allocated $22 million. Poe proved where her allegiance is.
At that time, Poe and our city council convinced voters we needed a Local-option sales tax (LOST) to help pay for property acquisitions. Really?
Consider the location of our candidates' campaign signs. Scott Olson, Poe and Monica Vernon, known to many as “the establishment,” have signs at Skogman-owned properties and well-to-do businesses. Vernon and Poe signs plaster Country Club Parkway.
Council is giving away many properties for free (to non-profits and developers including) to Skogman. Deals are made before council agendas are even determined, so Olson's promise to “recuse himself” is empty.
Vernon's four years of “experience” has confirmed she is not representing the taxpayers. And if Poe supporters knew the truth, Poe would not be boasting of flood recovery “success.”
We need to elect people who will represent all of us and use our taxes wisely. Vote for Taylor Nelson, Robby Robinson and Carl Cortez.
