Politicians should not control their own pay
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 6, 2011 2:13 pm
Donna Cassata of the Associated Press wrote that Republicans and Democrats want to make military retirees pay more for their health care (TRICARE) because of rising costs and cutting the deficit.
Why is it these members of Congress never mention cutting their own retirement benefits? We all know some of the politicians are very wealthy. They receive lobby money from all sorts of places. Some made a career of politics. What job can a person have where they can raise their own salary? Control their own benefits?
Why is it that it seems everyone should be cut somehow but one never hears the Congress would be cut anyplace?
We all know they are not earning their pay. And their approval rating proves this.
