Mathis will restore civility in government

There are clear differences between the two candidates in Senate District 18, and I want to encourage all of the district voters to exercise their right to vote.
Liz Mathis has had her finger on the pulse of Eastern Iowa for years. As a newscaster, she was constantly in touch with people while reporting their stories. She understands the concerns of working class families and is keenly aware that the creation of jobs is paramount in this state. I believe that she will work tirelessly to bring about laws that will stimulate our economy and as a result, create employment.
Our elderly have unfortunately experienced the worst effects of our downturned economy. I believe that Liz will fight for them and make sure they are not left behind. Older Iowans that are vulnerable need an ally in the Iowa Legislature and I believe that Liz will be that person.
Finally, government accountability is paramount to success. Distrust of our government is rampant these days and I believe that Liz will bring back trust and honesty. She has the ability to communicate with both Democrats and Republicans and will work to bring civility back to our government.
