Mathis advocates for people with no voice
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Nov. 6, 2011 7:20 pm
I will vote for Liz Mathis on Nov. 8. After attending the first two debates and exploring where the candidates stand, I think Liz is the best choice to represent the entire District 18 constituency. Both candidates are businesswomen and understand the issues affecting business. Only Mathis has experience advocating for people in our state who often have no voice.
As the chief information officer overseeing legislative advocacy for Four Oaks, Liz understands legislative realities and serves people other than herself in Des Moines. Her reasoned responses and smooth demeanor, even in the face of ridicule and condescension from her opponent during heated moments of the first debate, are instructive as to how she will handle and resolve conflict as our state senator.
