It's Election Day: Here are your basics

- Polls are open from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. today in Linn County, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. in most other Eastern Iowa cities. (Check with your county auditor.)
- Cedar Rapids voters are choosing among 10 candidates for three open seats on the City Council - District 2, District 4 and an at-large seat.
- Senate 18 voters will help decide the balance of power in the Iowa Legislature in a special state election for the seat vacated by Swati Dandekar.
- Undecided? Get information on Cedar Rapids candidates and the issues, including replays of the three debates, at TheGazette.com/vote2011/. Senate 18 candidate interviews with the editorial board also are there.
- Check back later tonight for the results, updated LIVE as they come in.
