Perry tells Eastern Iowans he'll overhaul Washington

Presidential hopeful Rick Perry told Scott County Republicans Monday that he will introduce a reform plan today to “uproot all three branches of government and overhaul Washington,” as he challenged Iowa caucusgoers to select the person who will be the “most credible messenger” of change.
Perry, the governor of Texas, was the featured speaker at the Scott County Republican Party's third annual Ronald Reagan fundraising dinner at the Quad-Cities Waterfront Convention Center in Bettendorf.
He's spending part of two days in the Quad-Cities. His Tuesday schedule had him at Schebler Manufacturing in Bettendorf.
Perry told more than 300 people at Monday's dinner that his plan would address “lifetime federal judges who arrogantly rewrite our laws” and “the permanent bureaucracy of the executive branch.” He also said he would include ideas for a Congress that spends too much and is in Washington, D.C., too much.
“They each have contributed to the demise of America,” he said.
