Cain can’t run his campaign on his terms

Who is Herman Cain to declare questions regarding his alleged sexual harassment should stop? Cain seems remiss in remembering that he allegedly took advantage of the women working for him. Cain complains he has been “lynched” in the press as a black man. Yet he claims racism no longer exists in the United States.
When pressed on the facts, Cain's answers are never coherent or satisfactory.
However, black people do not walk in lock step. Racial relations have improved, but there is still a long way to go. Electing a black president does not eliminate all vestiges of racism. Furthermore, the black president in the White House has never used race against his adversaries. Cain has used his race as a shield and the questions go unanswered.
The United States is becoming a second-rate country. Numerous industries move to China and then sell their products back to the United States. Who will help the everyday, hardworking person?
Clearly, Cain champions these firms where profits come before people. In no other time has the inequality of income and quality of life been in jeopardy, yet Cain flippantly and essentially answers, “let them eat cake.”
Unfortunately, Cain seems unable to come forward with a message that would promote jobs, understanding and unity. Until questions regarding his character are suitably answered, Cain has little, if any chance, for reaching the presidency.
