Mitt Romney's $10,000 challenge to Rick Perry during the Saturday night GOP candidates' debate is the gift that keeps on giving – for Democrats and his Republican rivals.
Perhaps the least consequential line of the night, it will live on in debate infamy. If Romney wanted to divert attention from anything else he said he couldn't have come up with a better strategy.
The $10,000 bet has proven to be like crack to a junkie for Democrats. They can't stop themselves from one more hit. And why not?
