D.C. Taylor Co. announced its Meridian Vineyards project was recognized by the Center for Environmental Innovation in Roofing as the winner of the 2011 RoofPoint Excellence in Design Award for Excellence in Materials Management. The 2011 RoofPoint Excellence in Design Award recognizes the best in design and installation of long-lasting, energy efficient, environmentally friendly roof systems.

The American Advertising Federation of Cedar Rapids-Iowa City will host a wine tasting and silent auction from 5:30 to 8 p.m. Jan. 26 at Ramsey's Metro Market, 1120 Seventh Ave., Marion. Admission will be $30 and includes wine samples, appetizers and the opportunity to bid on silent auction items donated by various local businesses. All proceeds benefit AAF: CR-IC.
