Area league races taking shape

One area girls' basketball conference race has been decided. Several more could follow as soon as Tuesday.
North Tama became the first area team to clinch an outright league title Friday when it defeated Waterloo Christian to lay sole claim to the Iowa Star Conference.
Five area schools -- Benton Community, Iowa City West, Maquoketa Valley, Mount Vernon and Sumner-Fredericksburg -- have clinched a share of their respective leagues.
