Broken wrist: Benton's Weekly will miss state tournament

VAN HORNE -- The top player for the top-ranked team in Class 3A will not play at the girls' state basketball tournament.
Benton Community's Madison Weekly suffered a broken left wrist in the Bobcats' regional-final victory over Keokuk. X-rays confirmed the fracture late Tuesday night.
A 5-foot-7 junior guard, Weekly averaged 18 points, 3 assists and 3.5 steals per game as the Bobcats have compiled a 24-0 record.
No. 1 Benton faces Ballard (18-6) in a 3A quarterfinal at 8:30 Tuesday night.
