Affordable care for women is critical issue

There has been some outrage recently about the contraception element of the Affordable Care Act. Preventive health care is a critical issue across Iowa and the country. Thankfully, this legislation provides peace of mind to women who will now have insurance coverage for preventive services, including contraception.
It is widely accepted that contraception is important in treating and preventing many women's health conditions. We can now rest assured that this service will be accessible and cost-free. There would not be the burden of a deductible or co-pay. President Obama and his administration have always recognized the importance of protecting women's health.
The Affordable Care Act is a monumental step forward for women. They will be able to make informed decisions about family planning, as well as other health risks. It is of utmost importance for women to stand up for President Obama's concern for women's health.
This component of the health care legislation simply gives women access to preventive services as they make decisions about personal health.
