Washington's Metzger steps down as boys' basketball coach

Brad Metzger has resigned as head boys' basketball coach at Cedar Rapids Washington in order to spend more time with his family. Metzger led the Warriors to back-to-back state tournaments in 2010 and 2011, though they went winless this past season.
“We are grateful for Coach Metzger's four years of hard work for the Warriors.” Dr. Ralph Plagman, Washington Principal, said in a statement. “We will miss Brad Metzger on the bench but we look forward to his sons playing Warrior Basketball in the future.”
