Political claims don’t match reality on gas
The Gazette Opinion Staff

The Associated Press article “More U.S. drilling didn't drop gas prices” on March 22 was a welcome explanation of how increased U.S. oil production has not led to lower gas prices at the pump. Politicians of both parties and plenty of oil company ads have been claiming more U.S. production will lower gasoline prices.
The article persuades me “because oil is a global commodity and U.S. production has only a tiny influence on supply.”
