Main Street America must be preserved

Remember when Congress had a conscience and worked for the good of the people and not themselves?
Remember when banks paid a fair rate on certificates of deposit? It was a good feeling to think you helped in a small way, to make funds available for those needing a loan for homes or whatever was necessary.
Of course, this was before big banks went kerflooey and we bailed them out big time. Now they are sitting pretty and don't need to pay a decent rate on a certificate of deposite. Not being part of the filthy-rich empire, our access to Congress is limited. Therefore, it appears our only hope for change is to make it known.
Let's start thinking of the welfare of all Americans, not just the filthy rich. Wall Street is important, but no more so then those who built it. Main Street America must be preserved.
Questions to Ben Bernanke and those in Congress or the White House would be a good start. We believe all banks that received gigantic amounts of taxpayer dollars should be advised to return the money by the way of CDs with a decent rate of interest. It is time to honor those who once were the cornerstone of all banking institutions.
