Jeff's Saunders will play hoops at NIACC

CEDAR RAPIDS, Iowa – Cedar Rapids Jefferson basketball standout Alec Saunders has signed a letter of intent to play at NIACC in Mason City starting next fall.

Saunders was a second team All-Metro choice last season, and helped take the J-Hawks to the class 4A state tournament. He averaged 9.3 points per game and 39 percent from the three-point line.

NIACC went 14-17 last season and 5-9 in the Iowa Community College Athletic Conference, but was the top scoring team in the conference (77.7 ppg). The Trojans are replacing six sophomores from last season's squad.
