Take election campaign lessons from London

I was in London in 1992 during their election. They get six weeks to campaign before elections and it has worked there for years. During every election cycle in the United States, the campaign time becomes longer, filled with personal attacks, half truths and outright lies.
Millions spent on television and mail that could be spent to help Americans. TV is more advertisement than programs. Magazines are more advertisement than stories. The mail is more letters begging for money than personal news. The telephone rings day and night begging for money and support.
The average person pays his or her share of taxes but politicians and others making far more money, pay far less because they know how to beat the system. Let's change that in November. Shorten campaign time. Take the money out of it. Put everyone on an equal ground. Put all politicians on term limits, unable to receive a pension until 65. Let them live on Social Security, Medicare, as we must. No more generous pensions unless they invest wisely for their senior years like the average person.
