Jake Greco of North Fayette, West Union set a new Iowa all-time best for career base hits when he slapped his 276, to eclipse Andy Beck of Kee, Lansing who amassed his total from 2003-07. The record-breaking hit came at home in the second game of a double header sweep of Sumner-Fredericksburg, Thursday.
Greco, a senior, also crashed his 44th career homer in the first game to move into a tie with Wes Freie of Wilton, 2002-2005, for 11th on the all-time list.
