City of Cedar Rapids to observe Independence Day Wednesday

The City of Cedar Rapids will observe the Independence Day holiday on Wednesday, July 4. Most City offices will be closed on that day. The following city services will continue to operate:

• Fire Department – Responding to emergencies
• Golf Courses – Ellis, Gardner, Jones and Twin Pines are open from sunrise to sunset
• Joint Communications Center – Responding to emergencies
• Police Department – Responding to emergencies
• Water Pollution Control

The Solid Waste & Recycling Division

will be collecting garbage, yard waste and recycling on July 4.
