Disclosure can be used to intimidate donors

It is time for Todd Dorman to come out of the political closet and declare himself a liberal Democrat.
In his July 3 column, he praised our Founding Fathers for not being afraid to sign the Declaration of Independence (“Life, liberty and the pursuit of anonymity”). Then he snidely berated PAC donors for not doing the same. There is a good reason.
Target tried to be open about its political contribution to the Republican Party. The Democrats promptly formed a national boycott of Target stores. The only reason Democrats want disclosure is to intimidate potential PAC donors.
