LISTENING: We don't know whether four Eastern Iowa Girl Scout camps should be sold because of declining use and fiscal operating deficits. But it was good to see the organization's leadership acknowledge the considerable pushback from parents and current and former scouts. The vote was tabled to allow more discussion on possible alternatives.

NEW BO ON THE GO: The evolving New Bohemia, Cedar Rapids' emerging arts, entertainment and business district, keeps picking up private investor momentum after city leaders set up a path for progress. The latest: Geonetric Inc., a local health care health care software/services company, will build a new home on the former Iowa Steel plant site. Also, city officials like New Bohemia Station, targeted for a former funeral chapel site. It includes retail shops, a hotel, loft residential units and an underground cinema.

CARRIER RESPONDS: Gazette newspaper carrier Ralph Miller, while on his route early March 23, spotted someone lying on the ground. After trying to rouse the adolescent girl, he called 911. The girl's mother credited Miller's alert, quick action with likely saving her daughter's life.
