Solon tabs Gustin as interim coach

SOLON -- The Solon Community School District announced the hiring of Peter Gustin as interim head varsity volleyball coach Monday, pending school board approval.Gustin is a 2010 graduate of the University of Iowa and 2006 graduate of Frankfort (Ill.) Lincoln-Way East High School.He was a four year starter on the UI club volleyball team and honorable mention all-state in high school. He previously served as an assistant volleyball coach at Solon in 2010 and was an assistant at West Delaware in 2011. Gustin will teach English at Solon High School. He replaces Kurt Trout, who resigned abruptly last Monday. Solon was 32-2 last season and reached the state tournament.
