Critic, not Chick-fil-A, is promoting hatred

In response to the writer who claims Chick-fil-A is a step back for Cedar Rapids (“New Chick-fil-A is a step back for C.R.,” Aug. 23, Tera Edmunds).
The city of Cedar Rapids is not building the Chick-fil-A store. Chick-fil-A is. In America, at least so far, Dan Cathy is entitled to his religious beliefs. If anyone, whether it be a government or an individual, were to try to prevent the establishment of a business based on the religion of its chief executive officer, that would most certainly be discrimination.
A true Christian will act respectfully to anyone, regardless of his or her beliefs. I'm sure that if Edmunds were to walk into a Chick-fil-A, she would be treated respectfully. Chick-fil-A is not promoting hatred. Her letter is promoting hatred.
