GAME TO WATCH

Pittsburgh at Denver, 7:15 p.m., NBC. The Broncos beat the Steelers in an AFC wild card game 29-23 last year when Tim Tebow connected with Demaryius Thomas on an 80-yard touchdown strike on the first offensive play in overtime.

Now Tebow's gone, and in steps Peyton Manning with a career resurrection attempt. Multiple neck surgeries sidelined Manning last year after 13 sensational seasons in Indianapolis, where he threw for 54,828 passing yards and 399 touchdowns. Manning, 36, is the only four-time league MVP.

TERRIFIC TERRITORY

New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has elevated his statistics from elite to historic during his vaunted career.

Brady, 35, has thrown 300 touchdowns in his career, tied for fifth place with John Elway. Perhaps even more impressive is Brady has thrown touchdowns in 32 consecutive games. If Brady can throw touchdowns in all 16 regular-season games, he'll pass Johnny Unitas' record of 47 straight games with a touchdown pass. In football terms, it's the equivalent of breaking Joe DiMaggio's 56-game hitting streak.

IOWA-CENTRIC

N.Y. Jets running back Shonn Greene rushed for a career-high 1,054 yards and six touchdowns last year.

Minnesota linebacker Chad Greenway posted a career-best 174 tackles last year en route to his first Pro Bowl appearance.

Buffalo tight end Scott Chandler tied a Bills record with six receiving TDs by a tight end.

Tennessee defensive lineman Karl Klug led the Titans with seven sacks last year.

Tampa Bay defensive end Adrian Clayborn posted 7.5 sacks last year, second-most all-time by a Buccaneers rookie.

Dallas Clark will start at tight end for Tampa Bay after playing nine seasons with Indianapolis. Clark is one of only two tight ends to catch at least 100 passes in a season (2009).

San Diego kicker Nate Kaeding has recovered from tearing his ACL on the first play of last year's season opener. Kaeding is the most accurate field-goal kicker (.865) in NFL history.
