32-31: Quick reaction from CMU's win over Iowa

IOWA CITY, Iowa - David Harman's career-long, 47-yard field goal with three seconds remaining gave Central Michigan a wild 32-31 win over Iowa on Saturday afternoon at Kinnick Stadium.

Iowa took a 31-23 lead with just over two minutes to go, but Central Michigan's Ryan Radcliff led the Chippewas down the field for a touchdown with under a minute to go - the two-point conversion was missed - to make the score 31-29.

CMU then recovered the onside kick - on the second try, after Iowa recovered the first one, only to find out that CMU had been called for delay of game, so the kick had to be tried again - and Harman's kick won it for the Chippewas of the Mid-American Conference.

A personal foul on Iowa defensive lineman Joe Gaglione moved the ball up 15 yards with less than a minute to play, and a few plays later, after CMU gained some more yardage, Harman's kick - a line drive - rode the wind just over the crossbar for the win.

Iowa wasted the eighth-best rushing performance in school history in the loss. Mark Weisman rushed 27 times - every single rush for Iowa - for 217 yards and three touchdowns. Weisman's third rushing TD of the game put Iowa up 31-23 with about two minutes left in the game.

Iowa hadn't given up a second half point to the Chippewas until the last two drives of the game.

Central Michigan improves to 2-1, Iowa falls to 2-2. The Hawkeyes start Big Ten Conference play next Saturday when they host Minnesota.
