No one forced to spend at casino

Regarding the Oct. 17 letter by Gary L. Roberts, “Casino in C.R. stinks of greed”:
He speaks of being robbed by casinos. I wonder who is holding a gun to his head forcing him to go to the casino? Win or lose, I have always enjoyed it, and when I spend my limit, I go home.
As far as cannibalizing Riverside or any other casino, if Dubuque can support two casinos and the Quad Cities can support three, I see no reason why Cedar Rapids can't support one casino and keep the money in Linn County rather than our tax dollars going to other venues.
I always have been for a casino in Linn County. I would much rather put my money to work here than somewhere else and also would be saving gas.
If you don't like 'em, stay home, no one will be upset if you don't support it, but leave the rest of us freedom to use a casino if we wish.
The last time this issue came up, people said it would bring all sorts of riffraff with it, but we have the riffraff and still don't have the casino, so now what is your reason for denial?
