Romney’s shifting values lost election
The Gazette Opinion Staff
Dec. 1, 2012 10:55 am
In response to the letter saying that Mitt Romney lost because he would not “sell his soul,” I can only say that he sold his soul so many times before this election that he may have not had one to sell (“Romney refused to sell soul to win,” Nov. 22 by Jim Schmitz).
In the end, he has shifted shape so many times that it was impossible to know the man. Thus, it was impossible to know what tact he would really take if president.
So the option was to view the policies and platform of the Republican Party. Those were found wanting. The people saw this and correctly chose a man whose course was steady and whose views were known.
