Utility linesmen were dedicated, hardworking

During the December blizzard, we received a large amount of damage from the high winds, coupled with the icy covering on a large evergreen tree. When the tree snapped at the bottom, the power lines running through its branches plus the heavy ice and winds pulled the frontyard utility pole toward the south and the backyard pole toward the north, leaving the power lines sagging toward the ground.

REC arrived later that day and cut through the tree branches to loosen the weight on the lines, saying they would return in a few days to put up new poles. Within a couple of days, the poles were leaning further, taking the lines dangerously low. After calling REC and 911, dedicated and hardworking utility linesmen arrived and worked in the freezing temps and winds, replacing two utility poles and restringing power lines. To those power line workers who don't receive enough front page “pats on the back,” a thanks from the affected neighbors on Beverly Road SW.
